Every afternoon I listen out for the noise of the ‘ding, ding, ding’ from our friend Adi the bakso man who taps a soup spoon on one of his bowls. That noise means he is in our gang (street) ready to sell his Bakso!
Bakso is an Indonesian soup that has chicken balls, noodles and egg. It is up to you to make it spicy or not but I like it not spicy. It costs 10,000 Rupiah ($1).
Adi now knows how much we love his Bakso that he comes down our street everyday to visit us. He knows we are his favourite customers! I even gave him a kola bear key ring the other day and he loved it. He puts it on the handle of his motorbike.
