ACS Bali – The latest addition of renowned Singapore ACS brand of education

Looking for a Bali school which combines high academic rigour with an all-round holistic education? Enrol Now.

Choosing the right school for their child or children is one of the most significant decisions a family makes.

Bali parents now have an extra choice when considering schools. ACS Bali, the newest member of the Singapore-based ACS network of schools, is preparing to open its doors to students in July 2025.

ACS Bali, like the other ACS schools, is an international school renowned for its academically rigorous programmes coupled with a strong emphasis on holistic education. The school is committed to nurturing and inclusive learning environments, encouraging students to perform to their potential and ultimately aim for top universities globally. In short, its education philosophy embodies the “ACS brand of education.”

Traditional Values-based Education: The first Anglo-Chinese (ACS) school was established over 138 years ago. Today over 10,000 students study in ACS schools. ACS schools are Christian schools following the Methodist tradition and they attract both Christian and non-Christian families who are looking for a values-based education.

Curriculum: ACS Bali’s curriculum will be the Cambridge International curriculum for Grades 1 – 10, followed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum for Grades 11 and 12. The school already has Cambridge accreditation, and students will sit the external Grade 6 Checkpoint assessments, then the Grade 10 IGCSE qualification. These two Cambridge qualifications plus the IB Diploma qualification provide students with a rigorous and globally recognized educational framework. Parents also appreciate the opportunity to check their children’s progress against comprehensive international standards at these three levels – Grades 6, 10 and 12.

Stunning Eco-Location: The school is located on Kura Kura Bali, a new and modern 500-hectare eco-development located close to the Denpasar international airport and with easy access to families living in Sanur, Denpasar, Kuta, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua especially. Designed by world-class planners and architects involved in the Kura Kura Bali development, the 4.8-hectare ACS Bali campus is located in an area which merges sustainability with contemporary living, featuring diverse marine environments from stunning beaches to lush mangroves. The ACS Bali campus reflects Kura Kura Bali’s vision of a sustainable, inclusive community that fosters creativity, innovation, and collaboration.

Extensive Facilities: The spacious school campus includes primary and secondary school classroom blocks, a specialist laboratory block containing 12 laboratories, specialist library, music and drama facilities, a 200-seat canteen with both onsite and online catering, and a multi-purpose hall/ chapel.

Sporting facilities will include a double-volume indoor sports hall with basketball court and tiered seating, and a sports complex containing a full-sized football field, an Olympic-sized swimming pool and outdoor hard court facilities.

The Kura Kura Bali development will also eventually include a 350 bed dormitory for ACS Bali students. This facility will enable students from wider Indonesia and other countries to access the ACS brand of education in an open and safe natural environment that emphasizes sustainability and cultural engagement.

International Staff: The school is led by Executive Principal Mr. Rob Burrough, a New Zealander with extensive experience in educational leadership in Singapore, Kenya, and New Zealand. Mr. Burrough is well-regarded in the ACS community, having served as Principal of ACS (International) in Singapore for nearly eight years. His passion for student achievement, school improvement and community building will be instrumental in ACS Bali’s development. He is joined by experienced international educators who have been selected based on qualifications, international curriculum teaching experience, their ability to guide students to achieving their potential, and their strong relationship skills.

“We are excited to bring the Singapore ACS brand of education to Bali in launching ACS Bali within the Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone. This initiative not only provides a unique opportunity for our students but also contributes to the development of a sustainable and culturally enriched community. We look forward to welcoming our first cohort of students in July 2025 and growing alongside Kura Kura Bali,” said Rob Burrough, ACS Bali Executive Principal.

Enrolment: ACS Bali will commence classes for Grades 1 to 9 on 28 July 2025. Grades 10, 11 and 12 will progressively open in the following years.

Prospective families are able to learn more about the school’s philosophy, special character, curriculum, timelines and admission details through the school website www.acsbali.sch.id , following the school progress on Instagram “bali_acs”, or by attending the monthly Open Houses, held on selected Fridays of each month on Kura Kura Bali at the UID Bali Campus.

Families who are unable to attend an Open House are welcome to contact the ACS Bali Admissions Office via the school website to arrange a time for group information sessions with the Executive Principal.

As a selective school, students sit a one-hour online admissions assessment covering English, Mathematics and Developed Ability (ability to learn). They also have a short semi-formal interview with the Executive Principal. Families are advised of the outcome within five days.
